Being a farmer at the village during older times, was a tough job. People had to clear the fields from all the stones, and there were plenty of them, to make some kind of usable land to plant their seeds or trees. The problem was to find a way to dispose of all those stones. They used to build stone walls to border their property and sometimes they also built some stone huts at the edges of the fields for protection against the weather or for storage of their tools. Here are two examples of such huts still functioning.

I have to admit... I would bring a book of poetry, a few candles and a comfortable wine and sit there in the heat of the day and enjoy myself. Is it hot or cool in the stone huts? I'm assuming it's cool. Would I need fear snakes? You have me dreaming today, Costas!
Interesting construction. It is a pity that disappears.
Aww, they are really stunning!
A combination of nature and culture.
Have a great day, Costa!

That's very indigenous, I have seen clay houses but never like that before. Won't that stone house collapse? But I think if it's not that durable it wouldn't stay there for such a long time.
These little stone huts fascinate me! I wish they could talk and I could hear the stories they had to tell! Marvelous captures as always, Costas, and as always, thank you for sharing the beauty, the history! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for showing us the inside of one of these stone huts. It is amazing that these stones were carried off the field and placed into these creations. I have been wanting a peek inside ever since I saw the first one!
PS - Love the shot with the wine bottle!!!
