Once, there were many living on the mountains of Crete. Now there are only few remaining under protection at
Samaria National Park. The wild goat of Crete or
Kri-Kri (Capra Aegagrus Cretica) is an endangered species. It is a beautiful animal and not easy to see and photograph in the wild as they usually live in not easy to reach places and are very shy. I took these photographs of the few kept in captivity at a small park at the town of Chania.
Κάποτε ζούσαν πολλά αγρίμια ή Κρι-Κρι στα βουνά της Κρήτης. Τώρα είναι είδος υπό εξαφάνιση και μόνο λίγα ζούνε προστατευμένα στο
Εθνικό Πάρκο της Σαμαριάς, στα νότια του νομού Χανίων. Ο
Κρητικός Αίγαγρος (Carpa Aegagrus Cretica) είναι δύσκολο να φωτογραφηθεί εκεί που ζεις στους απρόσιτους γκρεμούς στην άγρια φύση. Αυτές τις φωτογραφίες τις τράβηξα στον Δημοτικό κήπο των Χανίων.
