The early autumn rains and the following mild and warm weather, helped the growing of mushrooms. In the beech woods, high up on the mountains of northwestern Greece, there are plenty every day, if one knows where to find them and select those that are edible. While I was in the area, I was following a friend from there in search of the right ones. I was content to walk around in the woods and take photographs.

Ψηλά, στα δάση της Πίνδου, στην περιοχή των Γρεβενών, γύρω από το χιο0νδρομικό κέντρο της Βασιλίτσας, ανάμεσα στις πυκνές συστάδες από οξυές, πήγα μαζί μ' ένα φίλο για αναζήτηση μανιταριών. Η πρώιμες βροχές του φθινοπώρου και ο καλός καιρός που ακολούθησε, βοήθησε στην ανάπτυξη τους και οι ντόπιοι βγήκαν σε αναζήτηση, μια και μπορεί να  εξασφαλίσει ένα καλό μεροκάματο σε όσους τα γνωρίζουν. Εγώ αρκέστηκα να χαρώ την βόλτα μέσα στο δάσος και να τραβάω φωτογραφίες.

Some were intact, some were eaten by, maybe a turtle.

The rains keep falling almost daily on the mountains of northern Greece. And while I was there, a friend told me to go and look for some. Well, it was not bad walking in the woods, but we could not find many edible.

Οι σχεδόν καθημερινές βροχές στα δάση της Πίνδου, έχουν σαν αποτέλεσμα να βγαίνουν μανιτάρια εκτός εποχής. Όσο ήμουν εκεί, ένας φίλος μου είπε να πάμε να μαζεψωμε μερικά. Δεν βρήκαμε τίποτα άξιο λόγου, αλλά η βόλτα μέσα στο δάσος δεν ήταν άσχημη.
