The Temple of Olympian Zeus. Ο ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός.

The Temple of Olympian Zeus, or what has been remain of the Temple, the few columns standing, is in the center of Athens, at the east of Acropolis. It was the largest Temple of ancient times, and it started being built on the 6th Century B.C., but was only completed in the 2nd century A.D., when the emperor Hadrian was ruling the Roam Empire.
As you can see, there are only a few columns of the original temple standing and one laying on the ground.

Ο ναός του Ολυμπίου Διος, ή ότι απόμένει σήμερα από αυτόν, βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της Αθήνας, ανατολικά της Ακρόπολης. Πρέπει να ήταν ο μεγαλύτερος ναός της αρχαιότητας, και ξεκίνησε να χτίζεται τον 6ο π.Χ. αιώνα αλλά τελείωσε μόλις τον 2ο αιώνα μ.Χ., επί αυτοκράτορα των Ρωμαίων Αδιανού.
Απ' ότι βλέπετε, μόνο μερικοί στύλοι στέκουν ακόμη από τον αρχικό ναό, καί ένας ξαπλωμένος στο έδαφος.

Only a few of the columns are remaining of the original magnificent Temple of Olympic Zeus.But while you are looking at it you can imagine its glory and beauty before it was destroyed.

Publius Aelius Traianus Hadrianus. One of the most successful Roman Emperors (117-138 A.D). Secured the borders of the vast Roman Empire during his reign. He was a philosopher, poet and great lover of Ancient Greece and Greek civilization. In Athens he finished building the Temple of Olympian Zeus, built the Hadrian Gate between the Temple and Acropolis, and constructed the Hadrian Aqueduct to bring water to Athens.

Πούπλιος Αίλιος Τραιανός Αδριανός. Από τους σημαντικότερους Ρωμαίους Αυτοκράτορες.(117-138μ.Χ).  Έκανε σημαντική δουλειά, εξασφαλίζοντας τα σύνορα της απέραντης Ρωμαικής Αυτοκρατορίας. Φιλόσοφος, ποιητής και λάτρης του αρχαίου Ελληνικού πολιτισμού και της Ελλάδας. Βοήθησε στην αποπεράτωση του ναού του Ολυμπίου Διός στην Αθήνα, κατακέυασε την Πύλη του Αδριανού και το Αδριάνειο Υδραγωγείο για να φέρη νερό στην Αθήνα.
