Awards. Βραβεία.

I, always liked photography, but started it as a serious hobby a little after I got my pension a few years back.  This hobby was giving me the opportunity to go out on long walks and capture scenes and images I liked. After a while around the the beginning of 2010 I thought of sharing my photographs with others and that is how I started blogging which opened a whole new world to me. I liked the fact that blogging was the means to get to know people from all around the world make friends with them and share their knowledge, their experience their ideas and images from their places or the places they were visiting.
During my blogging time, I was awarded or proposed a few awards and I thank all my blogging friends for their recognition, but I declined their prize as a general rule by me, that I was not using blogging to get awards for that.  I like blogging and and my reward is the recognition I get from all my fellow bloggers.
Today I will make an exception to my rules and accept the Addictive Blog Award sent my way by my good blogging friend and exceptionally good photographer Francesca Muir from Australia who's blog Postcard Pictures is a must to see.
I make this exception for two reasons :
First because Francesca's photographs from Greece are exceptionally good at showing images of Greece and moments of everyday life here and she has a unique eye for capturing those moments, and
Second, because Francesca is a true friend and lover of Greece and its people and at the times when the people of Greece are going through the difficulties imposed on them, we need every friendly voice and support from all around the world.
Thank you Francesca and I sincerely hope you hold only good memories from the time you have spent here.

Από την εποχή που άρχισα ερασιτεχνικά και μόνο σαν χόμπυ την φωτογραφία και λίγο αργότερα το blogging μου έχουν σταλεί από φίλους bloggers μερικά βραβεία σαν αναγνώριση της ασχολίας μου αυτής.
Γενικά σαν κανόνα έχω να μην δέχομαι τα βραβεία μόνο και μόνο επειδή δεν θεωρώ πως η δουλειά μου τα αξίζει αλλά την κάνω για την ευχαρίστησή μου και να μοιράζομαι με τους άλλους τις εικόνες που μ' αρέσουν.
Σήμερα είπα να κάνω μια εξαίρεση .
Η καλή φίλη στο blogging Francesca Muir από την Αυστραλία μού έστειλε το βραβείο του εθιστικού blog. Την ευχαριστώ πολύ και το δέχομαι για δυό λογους :
Πρώτον γιατί η Φραντσέσκα είναι εξαιρετική φωτογράφος και οι εικόνες της από την Ελλάδα εδίναι καταπληκτικές και μας κολακεύουν, και,
Δεύτερον γιατί η Φραντσέσκα είναι αφωσιωμένη φίλη της Ελλάδας και του λαού της και τις δύσκολες   ώρες που περνούμε έχουμε ανάγκη από κάθε φιλική φωνή.
Την ευχαριστούμε γι' αυτό. Ελπίζω πως οι αναμνήσεις της από την Ελλάδα είναι καλές.
Μην παραλείψετε να επισκευτείτε το blog της φίλης μας Φραντσέσκας για να δείτε τις φωτογραφίες της από την  Ελλάδα και αλλού.

A prize. Ένα βραβείο.

While I was away, my good blogger friend Kimberly, awarded me with the "Stylish Blogger Award". I am thanking her very much for thinking of me and I really feel honored. The problem with me though, as I explain in my sidebar also, is that I would prefer to leave my blog bare of awards, as, at some period, there were too many coming my way, and was time consuming arranging and passing them on to other fellow bloggers.
Kimberly and her blog "Garden in Paradise", is really worth all the awards they can get as it is not only stylish but the photographs she is publishing from her gardens in South Florida, are of a professional quality. It is one of the best blogs I have seen. It is worth visiting the blog and admiring both her gardens and her photographs.
Thank you again Kimberly.

Όσο έλειπα, η καλή μου φίλη και blogger Kimberly, τίμησε το blog μου με το βραβείο "Stylish Blogger Award". την ευχαριστώ πολύ και αισθάνομαι πως το βραβείο με τιμά. Το πρόβλημα με μένα όμως είναι, όπως εξηγώ και στην διπλανή στήλη, ότι θα προτιμούσα να μην γεμίζω το blog μου με βραβεία, επειδή μια εποχή άρχισαν να μαζεύονται πολλά, και χρειαζόταν χρόνος για να τα αναρτώ και στην συνέχεια να τα μοιράζω και σε άλλους φίλους bloggers.
Η Kimberly και το blog της "Garden in Paradise", αξίζουν πραγματικά όσα βραβεία και να πάρουνε. Δεν έχουν μόνο μοναδικό στύλ, αλλά οι φωτογραφίες που δημοσιεύει από τους κήπους της στην Νότια Φλόριδα, είναι επαγγελματικής ποιότητας. Είναι ένα από τα πιο όμορφα blogs που έχω δεί και πραγματικά αξίζει να περάσετε να το δείτε και να θαυμάσετε και τους κήπους και τις φωτογραφίες της.

I known this has to stop sooner or later. If I go on getting them at the rate I am now, soon there will be no more space for them in my blog and I will not be able to post any more of the photographs from Crete, as I will be busy hanging them. For the last two who came my way recently, I must thank my very good blogging friends D. Angel and Coula, who both have very beautiful blogs. I am afraid most of you wont be able to visit and enjoy their posts as both blogs are in Greek.

Κάποια στιγμή νομίζω πως πρέπει να σταματήσωμε. Αν συνεχίσουν νάρχονται βραβεία στο blog, μ' αυτό το ρυθμό, φοβάμαι πως α. δεν θα υπάρχει χώρος να τα κρεμάω και β. δεν θα μπορέσω να συνεχίσω να κάνω άλλες αναρτήσεις, επειδή θ΄ασχολούμαι μόνο με αυτά. πάντως γι αυτά τα δυό που πήρα πρόσφατα, πρέπει να ευχαριστήσω τις φίλες μου D. Angel και Κούλα που με τίμησαν. Άν δεν έχετε απισκευτεί ακόμη τις σελίδες που έχουν αξίζει τον κόπο να το κάνετε.

No matter how much I want to go on posting this series of photographs from Crete, there is always something popping up which will make break the series. The reason this time is another award which came my way from my good friend Suz who I thank very much. Suz has a very beautiful blog , Begin Again, where she shows some very beautiful images and gives us some samples of her excellent writing. It is really worth visiting her blog. The award she passed on to me is the Kreativ Blogger Award. Thank nyou very much Suz. Much appreciated.

Όσο και να θέλει κανείς ν' αγιάσει, δεν τον αφήνουν. Προσπαθώ να συνεχίσω και να τελειώσω καμμιά φορά αυτή τη σειρά των φωτογραφιών από την Κρήτη, αλλά όλα και κάτι θα μου τύχει και θα μ' αναγκάσει να διακόψω. Ένα βραβείο ήρθε αυτή την φορά, από την φίλη την Suz που την ευχαριστώ πολύ. Η Suz έχει ένα πολύ όμορφο blog, το Begin Again, όπου μάς δείχνει τις φωτογραφίες της και της εξαιρετικές ικανότητές της στό γράψιμο. Αξίζει τον κόπο να το επισκεφτείτε.

Prizes . Βραβεία.

A prize cam my way and was waiting to be hanged a few days ago. It was awarded by my dear blogging friend Betty whom I thank a lot. The best Blog Buddy Award.

Ένα βραβείο που μούστειλε η καλή φίλη Betty, περίμενε μερικές μέρες να μπεί στην θέση του. Το βραβείο για το "Καλύτερο Μπλογκοφιλαράκι". Ευχαριστώ πολύ Betty.

Couloβραβείο blogοφιλίας.

Ευχαριστώ την Couλα που δεν έχει δουλειά να κάνει παρά κάθεται και μοιράζει βραβεία καλοκαιριάτικα. Πάνω που άρχισαν να μας πλακώνουν οι ζέστες. Και θα πρέπει εγώ τώρα να βγάζω λόγους, να λέω πόσο πολύ το εκτιμώ και που θα το κρεμάσω.
Καλύτερα να καθόμουνα στην Κρήτη. Δεν θα μ' έβρισκε εκεί.

Prizes and Awards. Who to give first. Βραβεία και έπαινοι. Σε ποιόν να πρωτομοιράσεις.

I started this blog, a few months earlier, as a way to do something in my spare time. I liked photography and had gotten a new camera the Nicon D60 with an 18-55 and a 70-300 lens. I like shooting at everything that looks good to my eye and I know that my techniques are far from perfect. That is why i was pleasantly surprised with the acceptance I got from all of you my friends and your kind remarks.
It was a very pleasant surprise when i got my first award from a really cool guy, Patrick Tillett, who has a really nice photographic blog and from time to time also posts some great stories. Thank you very much Patrck. I really feel honored.
The award is one Patrick created to give to blogs which are either purely photographic or combined with text also.It is the "Shutter Bug Award".

The rules, as they are set up by Patrick, for those receiving the awards, are really simple. Just post the award somewhere in their blog, with a link to Patrick's blog, as shown above.
Now comes the difficult part for me. I must find some other people to pass the award to. And i am in a great dilemma, to who should I pass it on. As all the blogs i am following are equally good and every one of you, my friends, is sharing his excellent work here. I wish i could deliver it to each one of you.
I managed to choose a few after a lot of thinking and indecision.

Their struggle against the negligence, the incompetence, the indifference and mostly against the half truths or the lies told by BP, the officials, the administration and the media over the worst environmental disaster/crime committed against our planet.

Ξεκίνησα αυτό το blog πριν από μερικούς μήνες, σαν κάτι για να γεμίζω τις ώρες μου κατά τον χρόνο που είχα διαθέσιμο. Μ' άρεσε η φωτογραφία, αγόρασα και μιά καινούρια μηχανή Nicon D60 με δυό φακούς 18-55 και 70-300 και άρχισα να βγάζω φωτογραφίες σ' ότι μου φαινόταν όμορφο στο μάτι. Δεν έχω σπουδάσει φωτογραφία και ξέρω πως οι τεχνικές μου απέχουν μακράν από του να είναι υποφερτές. Γι' αυτό μ' εξέπληξε ευχάριστα η αποδοχή σας και τα ευγενικά σας σχόλια. Περισσότερο με εξέπληξε όταν ένας ωραίος τύπος ο Patrick Tillet, αποφάσισε να δώσει και σε μένα ένα βραβείο που θέσπισε ο ίδιος για blogs που έχουν σχέση με την φωτογραφία. Τον ευχαριστώ πολύ για την τιμή που μου έκανε.
Το βραβείο που θέσπισε ο Patrick είναι "Shutter Bug Award".

Οι κανόνες που συνοδεύουν το βραβείο, όπως τους θέτει ο Patrick, είναι απλοί :
Όποιος το παίρνει, θα πρέπει νε κάποιο σημείο στο blog του, να το παρουσιάζει, μαζύ με τόν σύνδεσμο για το blog του Patrick, όπως φαίνεται παραπάνω, και να το μοιράσει σε άλλους bloggers, όπως αυτός κρίνει.
Τώρα όμως αρχίζουν τα δύσκολα. Σε ποιούς να το μοιράσω εγώ που όλοι όσοι έχουν ανάλογα blogs είναι άριστοι φωτογράφοι και δεν έχουν καμμιά σχέση με μένα. Ύστερα από πολλές σκέψεις και διλήμματα, αποφάσισα να το δώσω στους παρακάτω φίλους, χωρίς αυτό να σημαίνει πως όλοι οι υπόλοιποι δεν το αξίζουν. Μακάρι να μπορούσα να το δώσω σε όλους σας.

Η διαρροή του πετρελαίου από τον βυθό του κόλπου, από τις εγκαταστάσεις της BP. Τα εγκληματικά λάθη που έγιναν, η ανικανότητα και τα ψέμματα που έχουν ειπωθεί και συνεχίζουν να λέγονται από την  υπεύθυνη εταιρεία, τις αρχές, την κυβέρνηση και προπαντός από τα καθοδηγούμενα ΜΜΕ.
