After taking the wrong turn at a point where I found a better, cement paved stretch of road, I saw, towering above me, this new church with a beautifully area around it made for recreation and, I think complimenting the environment. The view from up there is fantastic also.
What about a pick-nick up here ?
Πώς θα σας φαινόταν νάχαμε λίγο βραστό κρέας και λιγάκι κρητικό πιλάφι εδώ πάνω ;
Someone else liked the place also, so took the family and decided to live here.

It is incredible what the landscape can hide - from a certain distance!

I am fascinated by the rounded roof. It's a rare treat to see that and I am drawn. Thank you for these, Costas!
Such delightful and picturesque views Costas. Stunning sky touching earth tones and then bac up into the mountains. Just awesome images as if time stood still and shared with us. Delightful!!!
I agree with Sylvia, we need a picnic share there~
The church, stairs and walls all blend in beautifully with the environment. Looks like a wonderful place to visit and the views are amazing.
Costas, you could publish a book of your ancient churches. I would buy it.
This is one of the best picnic spots I have ever seen. Sometimes, taking a wrong turn is the right thing to do! :o)
Wow, whoever decided to put this 'new' church here did a wonderful job - it fits right into the environment, like it's been there forever. I love the red door!
