A spring on the road. Μια βρύση στον δρόμο.

Another spring on an old road near the village. The water springing from the earth is practically a drip now in late summer, but is enough for a thirsty traveler. Near the top you can see the inscription on the stone, written   in the old turkish characters. The Turks, stayed in Crete till almost 100 years ago. They were building those structures for the thirst travelers so they would praise Allah for the gift of clear water and say a prayer for the man who built it.

Μια άλλη βρύση σ' ένα παλιό δρόμο κοντά στο χωριό. Το νερό που αναβλύζει αυτήν την εποχή δεν είναι παραπάνω από δάκρυ, αλλά είναι αρκετό για να ξεδιψάσει τον διαβάτη. Πάνω από την βρύση είναι χτισμένη μια πέτρα με μια παλιά τούρκικη επιγραφή. Οι τούρκοι που έμειναν στην Κρήτη μέχρι πριν εκατό χρόνια περίπου, έχτιζαν στους δρόμους, όπου υπήρχε νερό, τις βρύσες, για να ξεδιψάζουν οι περαστικοί και να δοξάζουν τον Αλλάχ και να λένε και καμμιά προσευχή γι' αυτόν που την έχτισε.
