Cicadas. The singers of the summer. They are everywhere. On hay-stalks, on tree branches, even on the tent over my balcony. They never stop singing. Day and night.

Soon the warmth of the sun, shall awaken the Cicadas here as well, and I do love their songs. We have them every year, but the 17 year Magi Cicadas arrive andoh my, how wonderful they are. Grand images Costas~

I love them. They evoke wonderful childhood memories and, somehow, summer isn't complete without them.

I've never met a cicada. I hadn't expected to be impressed by its wings.
Yes, we are hearing them sing here as well. They are lovely bugs. Ours have a greenish hue and are so pretty!

I like the sounds of cicadas but I never succeeded to take a photo of one! Interesting macros, Costas! I like the last one the most.
Cicadas are such large and unattractive bugs, but they are also wonderful photo subjects and patient as well it seems.
