Walking the streets of Athens(Ι). Περπατώντας στους δρόμους της Αθήνας(Ι).

Last week, I took a long walk along the streets of Athens, and had my camera with me. As one walks in the center of the town, along Panepistimiou street, from Omonia square to Syntagma square, will see three beautiful neoclassical buildings on his left. The first one, in the photo above, is the central building of the National Library. It was built in 1903. More on the history of the National Library and the building you can read here.
The second building, next to the library, shown below, is the central building of the administration of Athens University. Another beautiful neoclassical building.

Όταν περπατά κανείς από την πλατεία Ομονοίας προς το Σύνταγμα, στην οδό Πανεπιστημίου, συναντά στ' αρισετρά του το κεντρικό κτίριο της Εθνικής βιβλιοθήκης που φαίνεται στην πρώτη φωτογραφία. Στην συνέχεια, το επόμενο κτίριο είναι τα προπύλαια του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
