He was one of the most distinguished leaders of the Greeks during the revolution against the Ottoman Empire.He became a general in the new Greek army when the first Greek state was formed and was also put in prison by his opponents. Theodoros Kolokotronis. The Greeks thought it would be a good idea to make a bronze statue for him and place it in front of the old parliament building in Athens.
Now he is riding his horse ..and wants to tell us something ...
Or, maybe, he s showing us something...
Or, maybe showing someone, or maybe showing us more than one.. pointing his finger where they are..

Wow - I love your history lesson! It appears the statue even shows the detail of his helmet - amazing ! Thank you!
Great shots Costas. Thanks for sharing some info. This is what I like with blogging, am enjoying the photos at the same time I am learning.
good reportage!!
Thanks for the reminder, Costas
Ξέρεις πόσα ραντεβού έχω κλείσει στο άγαλμα αυτό;
Ξέρεις πόσες φορές εξετάστηκα για τον Κολοκοτρώνη σε μαθήματα ιστορίας;
Ξέρεις ότι κάποτε έμενα σε οδό Κολοκοτρώνη;
I love the history lesson ... and the way you leave it to our imaginations as to what he is pointing to.
