For more dimension, due a shot from the side more parellel to the actual shadow. For shadows, don't shoot up, shoot down, break out the ladders. Best time for shooting shadows is dusk by far, again from the side with your face to the sunset. Just a tip, because this is one of my favorite shots to do.....
