Hibiscus. Ιβίσκος

This Hibiscus plant, is buzzing with life all day long. It's flowers are closed at night, and they start opening with the first rays of the sun. And the bumblebees are waiting for the flowers to open and visit them.

Hi,
Coming here from Sylvia's blog, where I have seen your comments !

I am so delighted to see this post and photos on the red hibiscus flowers. In a week or so we will have our Ganesh Festival, dedicated to Ganesh, our elephant headed God of wisdom, who is greatly loved. This red hibiscus flower is considered a great favourite of his, and is used when we perform prayers rituals to honor Him. Your post with the lovely flowers was so timely ! Thank you.

Of course I cant figure out what your name is. Its all Greek to me :-)

I haven't seen so many blooms on one plant. I have a cousin in my garden, okra, that I eat the seed pods.

Very lovely Costas. My next door neighbor gets more sunshine that we do and she has several different colours of these saucer sized Hibiscus...the bees and hummingbirds along with assorted butterflies come often throughout the day~
