The port of Souda in Crete looks different at different times of the day.
This is the Cemetery of the allied soldiers who fell at the Battle of Crete, during World War II. Each tombstone has a different name. Some do not have names. Young soldiers from England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Rhodesia, India, Cyprus were killed here while fighting fascism, fighting racism, fighting the evil. They were fighting for freedom, humanity and self-respect. Now, seventy years later, the forces of the evil are being re-united against the people and humanity.

thank you for this session, it is a wonderfull place, very good to see in this grey day here by me
I passed this place by many time when I stayed close to Chania but never stopped there...
Naturedigital bonjour

Very stunning pictures, Costas. I am particularly interested in how that cemetary looks. I know that sounds weird to say, but the stones look unique and I'm interested in hearing more about what you were saying. What evil do you mean?
So many different photos of the port and all beautiful. What an enchanting place. And how moving you show the graves of the fallen in the war. A lovely post.
What a gorgeous way to begin my day! Your photos are superb as always, Costas, and as always, they have me yearning to return to Greece. Unfortunately, your words and thoughts regarding the graves and our world today are all too true and that I find so very sad! Have a lovely evening, my friend.
Sylvia

gorgeous scenery. love the night reflections. I have always wanted to visit Greece. maybe someday.....
Lovely series Costas and those evening harbor scenes are exceptional the way the lights shimmer their reflections from the water~
That beauty, your mythical country, the reflection .., we continue for the fight and the equality, for the freedom ... this way until we are a majority, in loving the neighbor and respecting the differences. Thank you..
