Another stone bridge at the same area. This one was built on an important road, connecting parts of the north western Greece. Its was finished in 1727, after it fell down twice, according to old rumors, and the Turkish official of the area threatened to hang the chief mason if the bridge was not completed in time and was strong enough to serve its purpose. As you can see it is still standing beautifully and was recently restored and renovated. It is not used by the mule caravans anymore, as new roads and bridges have been constructed to carry heavier loads. But people still know the bridge by the name of that official. The Aziz-Aga bridge.

A very unique bridge. It reminds me of one in Tessin in the Val Versazca, Switzerland. You ought to visit it sometime!
Okay, Costas, the bridges are great and I will show them to my stone bridge-loving husband tonight. but that pink drop on your heading banner is wonderful. your skill is good and your eye gets better all the time.
The structure and beauty of the stone are very unique.
Not that old I previously thought but still, remained through ages!

So very beautiful.
There is something about a bridge that makes me want to cross it - and then I feel as though my life just may change in some strange and unknown way when I do.
