Athens Airport. December 23rd.

I had to take some passengers to Athens Airport on the evening of December 23rd. And I had also to pick up someone else, arriving at approximately the same time. And I happened to have my camera with me. So I grabbed the opportunity for a few photographs. As you will see, the airport was decorated, as it should be, for Christmas.
There were not many flights departing at that hour, but flights to some destinations in Europe were affected as many destinations were affected by the bad weather conditions prevailing in Europe those days.
Flights arriving from Europe were also affected.

I love "action" shots....and it's always neat to wonder just who is who and where it is they are headed to (or coming from)....
Here's hoping one day I will actually get to see that exact airport:)

Nice airport! Haven't been in Athens yet! Somehow, coming to Greece, I am always speeding to the sea...I plan a trip to Peloponese and then I will go to Athens too.

It seems that nowadays all airports are modern and good looking.

Ναι αυτό μου συμβαίνει συχνά "And I happened to have my camera with me" Γιά την ακρίβεια δεν πάω πουθενά χωρίς αυτήν, τυχαία!

Oh, that's fun! Thank you! I love pictures like this... it's like taking a little trip myself! Your Greek pastries look delectable, Costas...perhaps we ought to meet for coffee next time I'm in town? ;) (which is never, since I've never been to Greece...but still...) Hugs!

I watched it unfold on my TV. What a mess. Days and nights in with thousands together running out of toilets, food, water and space. Ultimate horror show.

Nice photo essay. What really caught my eye was the 'brand' of airlines flying in and out. So many different ones! So interesting! Makes one want to put on his traveling shoes...

I travel infrequently enough that I still find airports exciting places. Maybe one day I'll arrive at this one - then I would be really excited!

I love visiting other airports and seeing how they're designed. I was at this airport shortly after it opened for the Olympics. It's nice to see all the decorations...really warms the place up and give it a personal touch. I hope all the travelers got to their various destinations without too much delay. Those are gorgeous flower shots you've posted below. So colorful...enjoy the day. We finally got a bit of sunshine today...
