A raid on the beach..! Επιδρομή στην παραλία..!

The beach of the previous post was really beautiful with crystal clear waters. There were not many people enjoying it, as it was not easily accessible. And you had to have your provisions of water and something to eat, as it was not organised. Only a small canteen for all the people enjoying the sea and the sun. But there were others who had no problem to jump down from the rocks and raid any provisions the people had with them. They were those semi-wild goats of Crete, who live on the very little they can find on the rocks. These living around here, were over friendly with people, and they were jumping down and raiding the bags of the sunbathers. It was a problem keeping them away. It was fun. When you extended your hand to them they were rushing to you to grab whatever you had to offer.

Η παραλία της προηγούμενης ανάρτησης ήταν πανέμορφη και ήσυχη. Τα νερά κρυστάλλινα αλλά δεν είχε και πολύ κόσμο επειδή δεν ήταν εύκολα προσβάσιμη. Και έπρεπε καθένας να έχει τις προμήθειές του σε νερό και τρόφιμα μια και θα έμενε εκεί μερικές ώρες. Και είχε μόνο μια μικρή καντίνα. Εκείνοι όμως που δεν είχαν πρόβλημα να κατεβούν στην παραλία και να βάλουν χέρι στις προμήθειες των κολυμβητών, ήταν εκείνες οι ημιάγριες κατσίκες που ζούνε στα βουνά της Κρήτης. Μια όμάδα από αυτές είχαν βρεί τρόπο να συμπληρώνουν το μενού τους. Αν δεν πρόσεχες, έκαναν επιδρομή στην τσάντα σου και άρπαζαν ότι έβρισκαν. Παραήταν φιλικές και αν τος άπλωνες το χέρι έτρεχαν ν' αρπάξουν ότι τους έδινες.

This little cutie, is growing up at the "in house" small farm. It has been taken away from her mother to be used to growing alone and without milk, and she will be another mother next year to give her milk to the owner. For some reason it escaped its pen and got lost during the search for her mother. After a while, the owners pet dog came looking for her and led her back home.

Αυτή η μικρούλα μεγαλώνει στο σπίτι για να γίνει μια καινούρια οικόσιτη αίγα. Μόλις έχει απογαλακτιστεί. Δεν της αρέσει όμως που μεγαλώνει μακρια από την μάννα της και την κοπάνησε. Χαθηκε και λίγο αργότερα ήρθε ο σκύλος του αφεντικού και την οδήγησε πίσω.

The goats living on the mountains of Crete. Living in this kind of harsh environment, they are not easy to be tamed. No fence can keep them inside. They are almost semi-wild. Sometimes, the shepherds are using their trained dogs to round them and catch them. In the post you can see this mother and her young going round the fence, as we were coming back from our visit to the mountain church.

Οι γίδες στα βουνά της Κρήτης, ζουν σε ημιάγρια κατάσταση. Φράχτες και μάντρες δεν μπορούν να τις περιορίσουν γιατί είναι μαθημένες να ζουν σ΄αυτό το άγριο περιβάλλον. Πολλές φορές οι βοσκοί χρησιμοποιούν τους ειδικά εκπαιδευμένους σκύλους τους για να τις μαζέψουν και να τις πιάσουν. Σ' αυτές της φωτογραφίας μπορείτε να δείτε μια μητέρα με το μικρό της να περνούν φράχτες και εμπόδια. Τις συναντήσαμε όπως γυρνάγαμε από το εκκλησάκι στις Μαδάρες.
