Autumn colors. Φθινοπωρινά χρώματα

In the woods and around the woods on the lower slopes of Mt Pindos, near the town of Grevena, Greece one can enjoy the colors of nature this season.

Μέσα και γύρω από το δάσος, στις χαμηλώτερες πλαγιές της Πίνδου, κοντά στην πόλη των Γρεβενών, μπορεί κανείς ν' απολαύση τα χρώματα της φύσης αυτήν την εποχή.

The light of the day is fading away and other lights are coming up in the streets of the town of Grevena in northern Greece. And there is just enough ambient light to take a decent photograph of the clock tower in the small square.

Το φως της ημέρας χάνεται σιγά σιγά και τα φώτα της πολης αρχίζουν ν' αναβουν στους δρόμους των Γρεβενών. Το φως μόλις που αρκεί να τραβήξει κανείς μια φωτογραφία του πύργου του ρολογιού στο κέντρο της μικρής πλατείας.

Europe’s leaders should have paid more attention to the distress of ordinary Greeks and less to the distress of well-heeled European bankers. Rather than trying to punish the “profligate,” they should have thought about the consequences of condemning Greece to years of negative growth, soaring unemployment and rising taxes with nothing promised in return except that maybe, a decade from now, its ratio of debt to gross domestic product might get back down to the problematic levels of 2008-9.

Small rivers and streams in Grevena. Ρυάκια και ποταμάκια στα Γρεβενά.

There are a couple of small rivers and streams crossing the small town of Grevena in northern Greece. They are not carrying a lot of water this period, but they are beautiful to look at them, as the surrounds are displaying their autumn colors.

Υπάρχουν ένα-δυο ποταμάκια που διασχίζουν την μικρή πόλη των Γρεβενών. Δεν κουβαλάνε πολύ νερό αυτήν την εποχή αλλά είναι όμορφα με το περιβάλλον ντυμένο στα φθινοπωρινά του χρώματα.
