Hi! That modern building looks stunning against the deep blue sky. I wonder what will be in there...thanks for your visit to my Yosemite photo. Enjoy the day!
Looks like a lovely day in Athens -- trees blooming children playing-- That building is a beautiful example of modern glass architecture -- increasing in popularity over the past few decades. Glass is an inexpensive material and is environmentally friendly and fully recyclable, an important consideration. The part I enjoy about these buildings besides the ascetics is the glass creates an airiness, and provides a sense of space as it allows natural light to enter buildings and opens up to the natural landscape. the building also has a playful colorful quality to it.
What a lovely walk you've taken us on, Costas! It's so interesting to see a "modern" side of Glyfada. It's hard for me to think of Greece/Athens as a modern city because I love it's ancient history. Your photos are always a delight! Hope you have a great weekend! And take more photos! Love/appreciate the ones you share with us.
I'm in full agreement with Sylvia - it's embarrassing to admit I always think of Greece/Athens as ancient ruins. At least I USED to - since I started reading your blog and seeing your beautiful pictures, I know there's so much more!
I really like the way colors were used to accent the windows in that new building.

It seems like that building would be very busy soon. The glass architecture looks very intricate.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful purple blooms. I am not so much into modern architecture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Costas.
