More Churches on the mountains.

As I was driving on the mountains of northern Greece, I came across more churches, situated in the middle of nowhere, away from villages. They seem to be built of stones, the same traditional way like the one shown in my previous post. Only the three I am showing you today are not as old as the previous one.

  2. I love the one in the field with the bell tower beside it. They are so small but so beautiful. One can imagine the small congregations gathered for worship there.

  12. Oh how charming these churches are Costas. I wonder why they are so far from a city. A church needs people. I wonder what their stories, these old churches would tell if they had voices to speak~

  13. Seeing these churches of stone makes me wonder how long they todo to build considering their remoteness and the fact that all work was done by manual labor, not machinery. They are beautiful testimonies to God and man. The last one is very picturesque.
