Chios of Greece. An island with history, perfumes and hospitality(IV).

The old Church of St. Apostles at Pyrgi.
Near the village square, at the end of a narrow archway, is a beautiful small church, a real monument of the Byzantine era. The church of the Apostles. Beautifully preserved from the 13th century a.D. and decorated with frescoes done by famous painters of the time. Enjoy.

  7. Wow, 13th century... I can almost hear the footsteps echoing. I love ancient places, I can't help imagining the life that once has been there.

    Thanks for sharing.
