Vrisses. A beautiful cool village. Βρύσσες Αποκορώνου. Ένα όμορφο δροσερό χωριό.

A few miles away from my village, to the northeast is another village, Vrisses. Its larger and more important than mine, as it lies on the crossroads leading to Sfakia region of southwestern Crete, to Rethymnon on the east, to Chania on the west and other villages north and south. It is the center of activity for all the region, and people from other villages do most of their shopping there daily. Many tourists are passing from there every day and it is a favorite stop for them as there are many tavernas and cafes either side of the road and the square next to the stream.
Λίγα χιλιόμετρα από το χωριό μου, προς τα βορειοανατολικά, είναι το χωριό Βρύσσες Αποκορώνου. Μεγαλύτερο και σημαντικώτερο από το δικό μου, μια που βρίσκεται πάνω στην διαστάυρωση που οδηγεί στο Ρέθυμνο, τα Σφακιά, το Βάμο, τα Χανιά και άλλα χωριά της επαρχίας. Είναι πολύ όμορφο δροσερό χωριό όπως θα δείτε με αρκετά νερά και πλατάνια και σχεδόν υποχρεωτική στάση για τους ταξιδιώτες που περνούνε από εκει, μια και υπάρχουν αρκετά καφενεία και ταβέρνες.
