Although spring is not yet visible everywhere high up on Mt Pindos and the woods are still in their winter dressing, some bushes and trees are wearing their beautiful spring dresses, and some daring early flowers started appearing next to the melting snow and the little streams formed.
Your scenery is endlessly beautiful! How can absorb it all? Thank you for sharing it.

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos of spring awakening.
ReplyDeleteAgain I must thank you all my friends for being so kind on commenting on my photographs.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like more the pics # 11,12 and 13. They are of the same tree and were cropped from the originals, without resizing, so when you click on them to enlarge, you could see more details. If you look closer, you will see the nest between the yet bare branches, and the pair of birds, one on the nest and the other next to it on a branch on the first of the photographs. On the other two only the one is sitting on the nest and it is barely visible. After a lil while it flew away also, giving me no time to catch them on flight. Next day I returned to the same spot, with the 300mm lens on the camera and a tripod to wait for better chances at photographing the pair, but they did not show up all the time i was waiting for them. Only saw a squirrel climbing and disappearing on the same tree as I was approaching.
Judging from the beautiful colors and the size of the birds, i guess they must be hoopoes (Upupa epops) or Τσαλαπετεινός in greek. they are beautiful birds to watch and it was the first time i saw them in nest.
